For this reason, Indra sent Kamdev to break the penance of Shiva, but Shiva was angry and burnt Kamdev to ashes. But Shiva’s penance was broken and then later the gods had convinced Shiva to marry Parvati. Based on this legend, Holi is celebrated as a celebration of the victory of true love.

The six sons of Devaki were killed by Kansa and the seventh son was Balarama, an incarnation of Shesha Nag. His share was transferred to the womb of Rohini, the second wife of Vasudeva, even before birth. Then Shri Krishna incarnated as the eighth son.
At the same time, Vasudev took Shri Krishna to Nanda and Yashoda’s place in Gokul in the night itself and brought their newborn daughter with him. But Kansa could not kill that girl and again there was an Akashvani that the one who killed Kansa had taken birth in Gokul.
For this reason, Kansa entrusted the task of killing all the babies born in Gokul on that day to the demonic Putana in order to kill Shri Krishna. She took the form of a beautiful woman and went to breastfeed the babies with poison, but Shri Krishna killed the demonic Putana. That day was Falgun Purnima.
